It is not recommended to connect multiple LEDs in parallel to a es constant current led driver.

Because the es constant current led driver has no internal current regulation simple led driver. So when you connect multiple LEDs in parallel to a constant current LED driver, it will shorten the life of the LED.




But why connect multiple LEDs in parallel to a digital constant current power led driver will shorten the life of the LED? See the reason as following:

1.First, it is important to understand that all LEDs have manufacturing tolerances. This means that even if the part numbers of the several LEDs you use are exactly the same, the starting voltage of the LEDs will vary slightly.

For example, you may have a constant current LED driver with an output of 2A, powering 4 LEDs, and an input current rating of 500mA.

Due to allowable manufacturing tolerances, once the output voltage of the simple led driver. reaches 10V, one LED will light up, the other will light up at 10.3V, and the other will light up at 10.5V, 10.6V.

Because the first LED is on before the others it will draw a slightly higher current than it needs. The other LEDs will be slightly under powered. As the first LED is being over driven, there is a risk that its lifespan will be reduced and it could fail prematurely.

This failure will have a chain reaction. Since there are only three LEDs connected to the simple led driver.now, they will all be driven at 660mA. This means that all 4 LEDs are now overdriven. This is likely to cause another LED to fail quickly. Of course, this means that the remaining 2 LEDs are now driven at 1000mA, which means that they will also fail soon.

If you need to connect multiple LEDs to a constant current LED driver, it is recommended to connect them in series. In this way, if one of the LEDs fails, the power can be cut off to protect the other LEDs from over-driving.
