Pulse width modulation (PWM) is a method through adjust to make the LED dimming power supply current to square wave, the pulse width is variable, and the modulation of the pulse width is converted into a time for modulating the continuous illumination of the LED lamp, at the same time, the input power is changed, thereby achieving energy saving and well dimming.
The frequency is about 200Hz~10KHz as usual; because of the hysteresis of human eye vision, we will not feel the sparkle which caused by the light source during the dimming process. The advantage of PWM dimmable led driver is that it can improve the heat dissipation performance of the LED. The drawback is that the overshoot of the dimming led driver must have a certain impact on the life of the LED chip.
